Welcome to Canine Computing
Canine computing was founded in 2007 when a small startup dog training club wanted to promote their club on the web. They found all the options out there were far beyond the club's budget.
My wife, who is also a club member mentioned this to me, and when I did the research, I noticed that a lot of companies who offer similar produts, charge you for items that should be included (one charges extra for meta tags!), force you to host though them or have them register your domain name, and also push you to add on components that you really don't need making the site slow and inefficient. I looked at their sites and realized that a lot of them wouldn't look good or run well on your average pet fancier's computer. Sure, they look great on a large, high resolution monitor with a super high speed connection, but Joe Average Pet-Lover wouldn't be able to easily navigate the pages, would have to scroll from side to side, and wait for pages to load.
So, I started up Canine Computing with the same philosophy as the dog training club, "No BS". We don't charge for the basic items that should be included with a web page (you generally don't pay extra for a radio in your car, don't you?). We design our pages for compatibility with today's most popular browsers and don't include a lot of fluff that would cause the page to download (and display) slowly. We have easy to navigate pages and will also include a Google Site Map for all pages hosted though Canine Computing.
Another issue was cost. People charging over $400 for a very basic site, not including hosting. We help keep our costs down by allowing the option to have multiple clients have pages hosted though the same server instead of their own server, we also allow people to register their own domain name and Canine Computing, while working with the client, can have the clinet's domain pointed to Canine Computing's server. We also help keep our costs down by using referral programs, such as Google's Ad sense that offer pay-per click comissions (to Canine Computing). These ads are tastefully placed on the page, for example, look at the Google ad at the bottom of this page. We also utilize our hosting company's referral program (1 and 1) plus portals to Amazon.com, the Internet's most popular shopping destination. They are non-intrusive and does not distract from the page. You can see other examples on the pages that we've created.
